Sunset Family Session – Reeves Reed Arboretum [NJ Family Photographer]

Now that it’s January and I have some time to get caught up blogging, I can’t wait to go through my 2016 sessions and share my favorites. I met this lovely family at the Reeves Reed Arboretum in Summit over the summer to photograph them after recently having moved to the area. Their daughter Allison was so sweet and loved being around mom and dad. She even had a special lovie join in for a few shots. I love when parents are ok with incorporating a child’s favorite toy or stuffed animal. What a nice memory it will be when Allison is grown. She can look back at these images and remember her childhood pal!

I love the light during a sunset family session because it makes everything glow! I know a lot of parents can be skeptical because it’s so close to bedtime when the kids are little, but it’s so so worth it. I promise! The nice thing about a family session with me is that I don’t ever rush things. If we need to take breaks because your little one is getting cranky, that’s totally fine. I ask parents to bring snacks, a drink, and of course, that lovie! Anything that will comfort your child if they do end up getting tired.
