Sun Filled Fun Family Session [Chester, NJ Family Photographer]

I wasn’t sure if we were going to end up making this session. As I was driving to the location, it started to rain. For most of the ride and then when I was about 5 minutes away, the clouds parted and the sun began to shine. That just told me it was going to be a fun family session.

When I first met Jordan he was a little shy. He wasn’t too sure about me. I laid out a blanket for everyone to sit on and I asked if Jordan wanted to see my camera. He walked over cautiously and then all of a sudden my cell phone rang. I made a silly surprised face and asked, “Jordan, are you calling me?” Well, that did it for him. He laughed and it broke the ice. He was all smiles the rest of the evening. He loved pushing the buttons on my camera. I was smiling when I went through the images from this session to grab a sneak peek. There were a lot of shots of just the grass!

Sometimes, the hardest part of a family session is getting the dads on board. Liana mentioned wanting a more candid shoot, no stiff poses, and I was so happy to hear that. I told her to remind her hubby that I don’t need everyone looking at the camera. I wanted him to focus on his beautiful family. I think that helps to take the pressure off. Plus, it helps to get up and walk around. Dads and toddlers get bored really easily so I like to walk around and explore.

Here are a few quick shots from their session.

This was cracked me up because all night I was letting him push the buttons on my big camera and then I remembered I had a toy camera from Twig. Well, he wasn’t too impressed. It didn’t click and make a fancy sound like mine did. He looks so confused here. Lol!Sun Filled Fun Family Session - Stacy Mae Photography - NJ Family Photographer
