Creativity has the power to bring people together and we need that more than ever right now. With everything going on in the world today and families being told to Stay Home, we’ve been given a unique opportunity to spend more time together. And this is the perfect time to document your family. The heart behind this online photo course is less about creating Instagram worthy images and more about capturing photos that tell a story. Your story.
Motherhood is a complicated journey. One with highs and lows and lots of amazing in between moments. Our lives are spent doing mostly ordinary, mundane things that you might not think are photo worthy, but my hope is that after taking this course you’ll begin to see that there is beauty to be captured everywhere. Even when you’re feeling overwhelmed with everything you’ve got on your plate, picking up a camera has the power to heal. To show you how blessed you are to be surrounded by family right now.
The photos you take tell people what’s important to you. So take photos that matter. Show your children what their life looks like through your eyes. The eyes of a mama who loves them unconditionally.
We’re not going to get super technical in this course. In fact, most of it will focus on the stuff you need to know BEFORE you take a photo. We’re going to start with why. What makes you want to pick up your camera? Why are photos important to you? What do you want to remember about your kids and life at home?
Then we’re going to talk about some simple ways that you can capture those everyday moments. I’ll show you how to find light in your home, how to get natural smiles from your kids and games to play so that your kids actually enjoy having their picture taken. I’m also going to share some tips for getting in the frame more. It’s one thing to have a collection of photos that capture childhood, but where will you be in those photos?
And lastly, I want to share some of my favorite places for printing your photos. That’s the end goal after all isn’t it? You want those photos up on the wall or in an album for everyone to enjoy.
I would absolutely love for you to join me in this course. It opens Monday, April 6th and registration will continue until the 17th. After that it’ll close and won’t be available again until the summer.
I’ll be sharing a bunch of photos tips throughout those two weeks over on Instagram and Facebook. Once you register you’ll be added to a private FB group where we can connect and share photos. I’m going to post some fun photo activities you can try to practice as well.
This is something you can involve the kids with. Tell them you’re going to school online just like they are. Ask them to help you complete your homework by getting in a picture!
Either way, I hope that this course brings joy and creativity in to your life and that you start to recognize the beauty and blessings that are right in front of you.
