Christmas Activities Ideas To Do With Your Littles

Some fun & easy activities ideas to do with your kids to get into the Christmas Spirit and create some really great memories together. They are so simple and cute your little’s will LOVE them. And of course, these activities give you so many opportunities to capture special moments with your kids.

Here are some fun Christmas Inspired Things to do with your kids…

Write A Letter To Santa

This is such a fun activity that is such a classic to do every year. Also, bonus, here are 4 simple & creative ways to capture this moment…

 1. Shoot over their shoulder. This perspective lets you see what they’re writing and their handwriting. How cute is that backwards ‘s’?! I downloaded this adorable printable letter from @wonderandwhimsy_co.

2. Shoot straight on to see their face. Olivia usually sticks her tongue out when she’s concentrating, but instead she rested it on the table and I’m so glad I captured it.

3. Take a photo of the front of the envelope before you mail it. If your little one doesn’t want to pose with it, don’t force it. You can take a photo of just the envelope.

4. Find a cute place to mail the letter. A lot of places will have a fun Christmas inspired mailbox set up or just find an old fashioned one close by. This one is right outside of one of our favorite toy stores.

Decorating A Gingerbread House

Decorating gingerbread houses is on our Christmas bucket list every year. And every year I make sure to photograph it. But not just the houses that the girls create. The details too.

I like to photograph the girls doing their thing from a few different angles because I think it helps to tell the story of our day.

Do you move around when you’re taking pictures? I’m either up on a chair or crouched down. Never in the same spot. Give it a try the next time you’re taking photos of your children. Shoot up high. Down low. Over their shoulder. Up close. From around the corner. Keep moving!

Shaving Santa’s Beard

Santa needed a quick shave before he delivers presents in a few days!

Olivia loved this activity! I think I went a little overboard with the shaving cream, but it was a gel and I couldn’t tell how much it would fluff up.

The best part is we can do it over and over again! This adorable Santa printable is available in my Etsy shop as part of a Christmas activity book.

Let me know what you think about these activities & if you try them with your littles, don’t forget to tag me on instagram @stacymaeandco and follow me for more & lots of photo tips.
