This is what 11 looks like

My baby turned 11 today! Another year older, another year wiser. She’s grown so much this past year, both physically and emotionally. I love getting to watch her develop and mature.

This is a very big birthday. She got a cell phone! Her head was buried in it all day. We made her sign a contract in order to use it. On it, there were things like, “I will not post inappropriate pictures online. I will not share my password. I will always return your calls.” I’m a little nervous, but also excited for her.

This summer, she’ll be going to camp where she can sign herself out and walk over to the town pool. Lots of responsibility. I think she can handle it, but only time will tell. I worry about this beautiful face and all the things she will come up against. I only hope we’ve done enough to keep her safe. My baby.
